Alex Schwarz Portrait Shots

This shoot was created during my second year of studies in Grisart Escola Superior de Fotografia. I shot in studio and found working with Alex was easy and rewarding. He was flexible and followed my direction well. The ideas were simple; to shoot freely and capture the images using srong focal lights. The shoot was completed in Post Production by converting all images in Black and White, and by using very high levels. It only required a very light retouching.

This was a shoot which I worked on which took its time to achieve the final result. A shoot that a very good friend of mine Isis.....helped out by locating the wardrobe that I was after. In an old warehouse in the Raval in Barcelona, we managed to get our hands on some of the most amazing pieces from a designer who really impressed me in what he actually had.
It was crazy, antique wedding dresses, dresses which he designed himself, pieces of almost everything one would need on that odd occasion, it makes you simply wonder how much talent there actually is out there.
Thanks to all the team that bought it together, the model Lish and to Gil the makeup artist who dedicated ALL those hours in making it happen.
I found the perfect location and didnt even have to go far for shooting...thanks Lish and Stephanie.
The lighting I chose captured a mood I wanted, focusing only on the model.
During postproduction I desaturated everything and contrasted it more. Filled the model out so her skin would remain more porcelain-like and in one image made her look even more doll-like by changing the total color of her eye.

Lips

This image was so much fun! After going through my medicine cabinet at home and finding what would be the biggest most hardcore blue pill I could come across, I shot the lip shot. It was hilarious as the model could not stop laughing so imagine the Macro lens close to her mouth practically eating her and a laughing model, It was great. In post production I saturated everything, and painted all of her face in black to leave the photograph looking very much like a piece of art in itself.

This series was something I enjoyed as the model was somebody I met and felt should be working the asian markets, and after shooting her I contacted my agencies over there and passed her material through, so lets hope it happens!
The model is half chinese and half spanish and being eurasian, I found such a connection to her.
So the shots were done in studio, using feathers of bright colors I found in Australia last year during my trip back to see my family. The makeup was created by Vanessa.

This is a series of images I shot some time ago which I thought was definately a great experience. It was a very creative shoot. An idea I had on my mind, and definately a challenge to bring to life. It was a very WET and CRAZY day when this was shot, and you can not even begin to imagen the personal strength it took to get the team -model and makeup artist to my studio.
The photographs of this series are rather powerful. During the post production process I totally desaturated all images leaving only traces of colour on the lips and eye regions, this gives a stronger impact for those who see the images.
Thanks to Stephanie and Vanessa.

Images of Beauty

These are a few images I have created recently of models, friends and clients which have simply moved me. Im finding right now that I am going through a beauty phase..... I just love beauty. Afterall maybe it has something to de with the fact that I was an international model for ten years before changing to the side of the lens...and photography is a way of expressing art and beauty....controlling the light. ART.
A definate thanks must to go to my colleagues that also helped me in making these images as beautiful as they are...Vanessa and Gil.

This session was so successful. It was something on my mind for a long period of time. I knew that I wanted this idea, an unfocused and very beautiful face, made up perfectly and another element....water. It was a screaming success.
